S.C.R.A.P. Collective
About Us
The SCRAP Collective, Waco’s Sustainable Community and Regenerative Agricultural Project, is dedicated to fostering a healthy, equitable food system in Central Texas. The Collective is a partnership among various organizations with the goal to address issues of food waste, food insecurity, and climate resilience.
As a SCRAP Collective partner, the City of Waco has been primarily supporting this effort through fundraising in the form of grant writing and promoting the great work of the other partners throughout the community. An important goal for the City of Waco is reducing the amount of material going into the landfill, especially food waste, which produces methane, a potent greenhouse gas contributing to climate change.
