Nighttime Dispatcher

Waco Transit System has an immediate opening for a career-minded individual for the position of Nighttime Dispatcher. Dispatching/Driving experience in the passenger transportation industry is preferred, but not required. The qualified applicant must have a basic level of computer experience and be able to analyze issues and resolve them in a professional and courteous manner along with the ability to work effectively with frequent interruptions. The ideal applicant must pass a D.O.T. physical & drug screen, and must have, or be able to obtain within six months, a Commercial Driver’s License with a passenger endorsement.

Equipment Service Worker (Service Lane)

Waco Transit System has immediate openings for full-time Equipment Service Workers for the Evening Shift (2:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.). Equipment Service Workers are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and operational readiness of Waco Transit System vehicles and premises. This role involves daily cleaning and inspection of vehicles, servicing buses with fuel and fluids, completing necessary maintenance tasks, and assisting with various duties as assigned. The role requires adherence to safety protocols, effective communication skills, and the ability to follow instructions. The applicant must pass a D.O.T. physical/drug screen and have a valid driver's license.

Full-Time Fixed Route Bus Operator

Waco Transit has immediate openings for Fixed Route Bus Operators. This position is responsible for providing fixed route service to the citizens of Waco and surrounding communities in a safe, courteous and timely manner. Applicants must have a friendly, positive attitude and be willing to provide minimal assistance to passengers when necessary. Salary begins at $18.00 per hour after training is completed and includes two raises within the first year.

Experience in the passenger transportation industry is preferred, but not required. The qualified applicant must pass a D.O.T. physical/drug screen, background check and have a minimum of 5 years' experience as a licensed driver. A Class B CDL license with Passenger Endorsement is required.

Diesel Technician

Waco Transit has immediate openings for full-time Shop Technicians with varying levels of experience for the Evening Shift (3:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.). Excellent pay, paid holidays, vacation, 401K and health and dental insurance available. Experience in the passenger transportation industry is preferred, but not required. The applicant must pass a D.O.T. physical/drug screen and have a minimum of 5 years' experience as a licensed driver.
