The Solid Waste Polar Express Heads Back to the North Pole (until next year!)

Polar Express Float

This year the Solid Waste department debuted the Polar Express holiday float! The train was built, decorated and operated by Solid Waste staff.

The theme of the Solid Waste float is new this year, following three years of Grinch-themed fun. The Grinchmobile was a labor of love, pieced together from items available to staff and a lot of elbow grease. The team was just as innovative with this design, but had the benefit of experience and took the look and function of the float to another level!

After an unveiling at the December 3 City Council meeting, the float visited libraries, community centers, parks and more. Visitors were greeted by holiday music, bubbles, lights and even snow!

Wacoans of all ages were able to enjoy the float throughout the month of December, and we look forward to bringing holiday cheer again next year!
