Oscar DuCongé Park (1504 JJ Flewellen Rd.) features a splash pad, playground, restrooms basketball court, practice field, picnic tables, an outdoor fitness station and a paved walking trail. Oscar DuCongé was the first African American mayor of a major city (Waco) in Texas.

Park Rules

Park hours are 6 a.m. to midnight

  • Pets must remain leashed, and please clean up after your pets
  • Do not disturb, damage or remove wildlife, trees, plants or property within the park

Prohibited within the park:

  • Parking or driving on the grass
  • Alcohol and drugs
  • Discharge of firearms, including paintball guns or air rifles
  • Overnight parking or camping
  • Sales activity or solicitation of funds
  • Littering or dumping
  • Damage to any property
  • Loud speakers or amplified sound
  • Open fires, except in designated grills or fire pits
  • The disruption or prevention of orderly conduct
