Hours: Flexible schedule not to exceed 36 hours per week.

Will answer 911 and administrative phones; transfer caller to appropriate responding agency; enter updates and retrieve information in computer; determine the location, nature, and priority of call for law enforcement and fire response. Maintain and update status of officers/deputies and responders in computer. Must be able to follow written and oral directions. Ability to work in a high stress, fast paced work environment. Follow city and departmental policies and procedures. Work in a climate controlled office environment. Must be able to pass extensive law enforcement criminal background check. Must be at least 18 years of age to apply. Qualifiers to apply: Must not be currently under indictment for any criminal offense. Never been convicted of any offense above the grade of a Class B misdemeanor or a Class B misdemeanor within the last ten years. Never been on court ordered community supervision or probation for any criminal offense above the grade of Class B misdemeanor or a Class B misdemeanor within the last ten years. Never been convicted of any family violence offense. Has not had dishonorable or bad conduct discharge from any military service.

REQUIRED:

Drivers License: Valid Class C Texas DL or State Issued ID Card.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience: No experience required.
Certifications: National Crime Index Computer (NCIC)/Texas Crime Computer Index Computer (TCIC) certification within 6 months of hire, provided in house. Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) Basic Telecommunication, Crisis Communication, and Cultural Diversity Certifications within 1 year of hire (provided in house).
Testing: CritiCall test score minimum 80% may be taken at the Waco Police Department by appointment (may re-test three times in one year).
Physical Demands: Sedentary

DESIRED: Experience in Tiburon Computer Aided Dispatch and Records Management Systems. Current TCLEOSE Telecommunicator Certificate. Basic computer skills are desired.
