Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Coordinate plan review and permit process by conducting preliminary meetings and reviewing preliminary and final plans and specifications for compliance with all applicable codes and ordinances related to building construction. Perform review of construction plans for compliance with the building, plumbing, mechanical, fuel gas and electrical codes, and all other applicable city ordinances. Follow city and departmental policies and procedures. Work safely in accordance with the Safety Plan, Department Safety Plan, applicable laws and regulations, and supervisory directives. Work with other city departments to insure construction requirements are met. Perform other related duties as assigned. Work primarily in a climate controlled office environment. May be exposed to extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, and humidity while at inspection sites.

REQUIRED:

Drivers License: Valid Class C Texas DL
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or equivalent (two years of related experience may be substituted for each year of required education).
Experience: Five years in Engineering, Architectural design, or considerable experience in construction, plans examination, or as a superintendent of construction.
Certifications: No certifications required. ICC Plans Examiner Certification is desired.
Testing: No testing required.
Physical Demands: Light

DESIRED: Experience with AutoCAD is desired. Ability to speak Spanish is desired.
