FIber Art by Fiber Revolution and Special Summer Event!

Description: The Martin Museum of Art at Baylor University will feature textile artwork by Fiber Revolution beginning July 10. The exhibition is scheduled from July 10 to August 18 in Gallery II.
Fiber Revolution is a network of professional textile artists whose goal is to educate the public about fiber art as an exciting art form. A gallery talk and silkscreen demonstration by fiber artist Carolyn Lee Vehslage will be at 1-3pm on July 19 at the Martin Museum of Art. This event is free and the public is cordially invited.
Due to popular demand the “Selections from the Permanent Collection” exhibition will be extended July 10 through August 18.

Public invited to free gastronomy class at TSTC

Time & Place: TSTC Waco campus, 3801 Campus Dr., Culinary Arts Center, 6 to 8 p.m.
Description: Learn the science behind the food you eat with a free Molecular Gastronomy Class, set for 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 16, in the Greta W. Watson Culinary Arts Center on the Texas State Technical College campus.
Special guest Stephen Burns, executive chef of Aramark at Baylor University, will educate participants on the use of food chemicals, where they derive from and how food additives apply to present-day foods and their uses in a professional kitchen.
Demonstrations and samples of the work, along with a question and answer session, will be held.
The public is welcome to attend, but seats are limited. The class will be held in the Culinary Lab No. 1, in the Culinary Arts facility, located on Campus Drive.

TAME Trailblazer Traveling Science Exhibit

9:30 - 12:30 and 2:00 - 6:00 Twenty minute sessions - Groups are urged to make a reservation for the morning sessions. FREE
Description: Explore seven science components, including weather, magnets, space travel, speed, and robots in this 40-foot science-themed, hands-on exhibit at this Waco-McLennan County Library's parking lot. Aimed to inspire and motivate a future science career in 3rd - 7th grade students, the TAME Science trailer will hold about 25 participants for each 20 minute session. Visitors can participate in our "Science Experiment Stations" in the library's meeting room while waiting to enter the trailer. Please call 750-5956 for more information or to reserve Group space.
