Fees & Fines
Any animal picked up by the Animal Control unit is transported to the Humane Society of Central Texas (with the exception of livestock).
By reclaiming an animal that has been impounded, you are claiming ownership of that animal. You are responsible for any and all fees and fines.
You will need a valid driver’s license or state issued ID to reclaim any impounded animal.
Any fines or fees associated with said pick up are as follows:
Humane Society of Central Texas Fees:
Daily Boarding Fee:
DOG - $15.00 a day boarding
CAT - $15.00 a day boarding
Rabies Vaccination fee (required for any animal not current on rabies shots)
$12.00 per animal (a voucher will be given which can then be redeemed at a participating veterinarian’s office)
Microchip fee (required for any animal impounded)
$20.00 plus tax
City Impound Fee (See Also Court Fines):
The City of Waco charges an impound fee for all animals impounded by the Animal Control Unit.
First Offense - $50
Second Offense - $75
Third Offense - $100 & animal is spayed/neutered at the owner’s expense
Citations
Citations may be issued for various Class “C” misdemeanor infractions of the animal ordinances. These fines are set by Municipal Court.
